Throughout history people have turned to the Church to find care for their troubled souls. With Enlightenment came an increased confidence in human reason, and ultimately the professionalization of soul-care, which has led to the burgeoning professions of counseling, clinical psychology, and psychiatry. There is great value in these professions, yet we seem to be losing the historic role of the Church in promoting emotional and spiritual health and caring for troubled souls. My work on church-psychology Collaboration is an attempt to reclaim the connection between spirituality, mental health, and community that formed the basis of soul care prior to modernity.

This site began in 1999 under the auspices of the Wheaton College (IL) Center for Church-Psychology Collaboration (CCPC). The CCPC expired in 2006 because of personnel changes and relocation. Still, church-psychology collaboration remains central to my professional and personal identity.

Thanks for visiting the site.
